EURO 2016 Group A: France expected to come out on top

Switzerland
The side expected to give France the most to think about during the group stages is Switzerland, who finished second in qualifying behind an unbeaten England.

Romania
They may not have the star names that France, Germany and Spain can offer, but they qualified for the tournament with relative ease, finishing four points clear of third.

France
Hosts France will be more than happy with their chances of progressing to the knockout stages as they look to become European Champions on their own patch.

Albania
They only won four of their eight matches in qualifying, but it was enough to get the better of Denmark and Serbia, who came up short.

EURO 2016 Group B: England to triumph?

Russia
The 2018 World Cup hosts travel to France with one of the oldest squads in the tournament, and they’ll hope that experience pays off as the competition progresses.

England
Roy Hodgson’s men boasted an impressive 10 wins out of 10 in qualifying as they topped their group with ease, and are among the favourites to go all the way in France.

Wales
Wales are competing in their first major tournament since 1958, mainly thanks to Gareth Bale, who spearheaded their path to qualification.

Slovakia
Slovakia have a strong spine and will be tough to break down, though they may lack star quality going forwards.

EURO 2016 Group C: Too easy for the German giants?

Poland
Poland only finished one point adrift of the Germans in the group, and in striker Robert Lewandowski they certainly have a potent weapon.

Germany
Despite being stunned on their own patch by Slovakia in a friendly just a few days ago having taken the lead early on, Joachim Low's team will have no trouble picking themselves up to reach the knockout stages at a canter.

Ukraine
Yevhen Konoplyanka and Andriy Yarmolenko may be two of the best attacking players in Europe, but will it be enough?

Northern Ireland
Their European credentials will certainly be tested a little harder when they arrive in France, and... will they be a match for Germany or Poland?

EURO 2016 Group D: Spain should prevail

Czech Republic
The team are able to find the net regularly enough, and will fancy their chances of getting through a close group.

Spain
The core of Carles Puyol, Xavi, Xabi Alonso, and Fernando Torres, who saw them to three successive major tournaments has been moved aside, and a new, younger side has emerged.

Croatia
Their midfield and attack is solid — though without Liverpool’s Dejan Lovren at the back question marks remain over their defence.

Turkey
Led by Arda Turan, Turkey are an incredibly inconsistent side (losing 3–0 to Iceland, as well as beating Holland 3–0 in qualifying) and it’s difficult to predict what kind of side will turn up.

EURO 2016 Group E: Belgium battling Italy

Sweden
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Co arrive in France having secured their spot via the play-offs having finished third in their group behind Austria and Russia.

Republic of Ireland
Just two wins in Ireland's last seven internationals is hardly inspiring form, and they look set for bottom place in the group.

Italy
Italy are Europe’s most successful outfit when it comes to winning the World Cup, but this summer they will be bidding for just their second European Championship.

Belgium
They look certain to reach the knockout stages at least, and will be battling Italy for top spot in the group in their bid to become European Champions.
